CERN’s new Open Source Program Office

In November 2023, CERN launched its Open Source Program Office (OSPO). With representatives from all sectors at CERN, the OSPO brings together a broad range of expertise on open source practices, assists the wide CERN community with the release of software and hardware designs, and wants to empower the world’s open science ambitions through CERN’s open-source software and hardware – well beyond basic research. The OSPO is also the contact point for institutions or companies interested in establishing a partnership or setting up a collaboration in the framework of an open-source initiative.
